We respond to their interests and experiences. We respect their individual learning styles, seek their points of view, understand their conceptions… and always leave time to ask questions. We transform spontaneous play into learning experiences that encourage language, communications and social skills. We create programs appropriate for each developmental stage and offer curricula for Infants, Toddlers, Preschool and Pre-K. We’ll explore art, music, creative movement, shared reading, the outdoors, science, math, computers, character education, and the whole world of discovery with your child.
Childcare at Everyday Discoveries is educationally inspired. Staff members who provide direct childcare are qualified in early childhood education with an Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree, or equivalent, in the field. In addition, all childcare providers have previous classroom or daycare experience and are required to maintain Professional Portfolios with details of Continuing Education Hours, Parent/Staff Communications, and Child Academic Growth. We are prepared for emergencies. Staff members are trained in First Aid and CPR. We practice safety drills routinely so staff and children know what to do at all times.

Hello! My name is Gidget and I am the Director here at Everyday Discoveries. I have been working in early childhood education for almost 20 years now. I have taught in Pre-K and in infants for many years. My passion has always been with children. I started teaching in my local church with their Mother’s Day Out program and assisting in the nursery. I am a single mom of two wonderful adults. My son is 27 and my daughter is 22. They are my pride and joy. I come from a family of 4 children, with me being the one of the youngest. I have an older sister, brother and a twin sister. My favorite things to do is to spend time with my family, reading and going on walks. Fun fact about myself, I have a twin sister named Bridget.

Hello friends. I would love to introduce myself to you. My name is Rose and I am the Assistant Director here at Everyday Discoveries. I have a Bachelor Degree with a concentration in early childhood and family services. I have approximately 25 years of experience in the early childhood field and have spent my time not only in the classrooms as a teacher of birth to five but I have also taught Kindergarten and was an Assistant Director and Director. My favorite part of early childhood are those light bulb moments within the classroom and the mentorship I have been able share with my employees and the community. I enjoy being a mother of my two kiddos, Juliana(who is at U of I studying to be a veterinarian) and Crosby who is in 3rd grade and loves all sports! Oh and by the way I love all plants!

They also involve establishing supportive relationships with families, sharing information, providing support during stressful times, and linking families with services. Introduces academics through fun, challenging activities and thematic units that align with the child’s interests.
